HAYWARD, Calif. (KRON) — Six bodies and 154 cremated remains were found in a California warehouse earlier this month, prompting investigators to seek out the families of the deceased. The bodies and the remains, discovered on March 1 in the Hayward warehouse, are linked to Oceanview Cremations, a crematorium that had its business license suspended five years ago, the Alameda County Sheriff's Office said. Woman found breathing at New York funeral home hours after being pronounced dead The company's license was suspended back in March 2018, at which time Oceanview Cremations was also prohibited from storing remains on its premises. But the California Cemetery and Funeral Board informed the Alameda County Coroner's Bureau on Feb. 28, 2023, that the business was continuing its operations. The following day, investigators with the bureau went to the warehouse and recovered the remains, which were taken in by Oceanview Cremations in 2020 and 2021. Five of the bodies were identified. (NewsNation) — Tianeptine is marketed as a dietary supplement, a little something to help you relax. But it's also highly addictive and in some cases, deadly. Its street name is “gas station heroin" and it's easy to get. It can be purchased online and, as its name suggests, at gas stations and in your neighborhood convenience stores.Just because it’s easy to get doesn’t mean it’s safe to use. Among the ingredients in these so-called dietary supplements is tianeptine, a drug the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warns is harmful and addictive. Maker of unproven birth drug Makena to pull from US market Dr. Kirsten Smith, a researcher with the National Institute on Drug Abuse, said it's dangerous for people to be taking."So far, there's absolutely no understanding of the dosage," Smith said. "And certainly, no — it's not approved for any medical use. And it's absolutely not approved as a dietary supplement. In fact, it's actually on the FDA's list of concerning substances."In po...When will the car market return to normal?

(NerdWallet) - After years of sky-high car costs, prices for both new and used vehicles may be cooling off, according to automotive experts. But they warn that prices won’t be nearly as low as they were pre-pandemic. Prices skyrocketed during the pandemic, and remained high, due to supply-chain disruptions and a shortage of semiconductor chips, which power cars and more. But now, experts predict that changing conditions in the market will drive prices down.Current factors impacting the price drop include more inventory, higher interest rates (which increase the cost of auto loans) and inflationary concerns, meaning consumers aren’t able or willing to allocate funds to buy vehicles. “We’ve definitely kind of hit a new paradigm in the car market where these prices are not going to be maintained at these elevated levels we’ve seen for two years,” says Karl Brauer, executive analyst at car search engine iSeeCars.com. To think only a year ago there was much debate in Broncos Country on whether it would be Courtland Sutton or Jerry Jeudy that would finish as a top 10 wide receiver in the NFL while playing on a Super Bowl caliber offense led by Russell Wilson. A year is an eternity in sports.– D.B., watching time flyKiz: Sutton has lost that loving feeling. “I just want to be where I’m wanted and appreciated,’ Sutton tweeted Friday, as trade rumors swirled. With an $18.2 million cap hit for this year looming, Sutton has produced a total of four touchdowns the past two seasons. Where does the staff here at Kickin’ It Headquarters sign up for being underappreciated like that?In free agency, I would like to see the Broncos add San Francisco right tackle Mike McGlinchey, Arizona defensive lineman Zach Allen and Chicago running back David Montgomery. The Pac-12’s late-season salvage operation appears to have worked as college basketball prepares for the most-anticipated day of the year.During stretches of a decidedly subpar season, the conference looked like it might send just two teams (UCLA and Arizona) to the NCAA Tournament. But solid finishes by USC and Arizona State have improved the outlook for Selection Sunday, with at least one of those teams — and perhaps both — sneaking into the 68-team field. Not that four bids would be a source of pride. But it’s exponentially better than three. Before we dive into the at-large locks and contenders, three reminders about the NCAA selection committee’s process:— Overall record, conference affiliation and conference record are irrelevant.— The committee uses both subjective and objective criteria, with the latter focused on NET ranking, quality wins, bad losses, non-conference strength-of-schedule and performance away from home.— Teams are ...Harvick goes for win No. 10 at Phoenix in final Cup season

AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Kevin Harvick has had a big share of his best Cup moments at Phoenix Raceway. While his dominance in the desert has faded slightly over the past five years, Sunday is one of two more chances to get win No. 10 here and join some elite company before retirement, which the Stewart-Haas Ford driver says will be at the end of the current season.Every time he comes to Arizona, Harvick is reminded how good he’s been since he swept both races at the track 17 years ago. And pretty much every time, he deflects praise. “It feels somewhat arrogant and cocky to look at your own stats, especially when they’re good,” Harvick said. “I’m never going to tell you I’m impressed with anything of my stats, because I always feel like they could be better.”Harvick has won nine times at the 1-mile tri-oval and is seeking to become just the sixth driver in Cup history to win 10 times at one track, an exclusive club that includes Richard Petty, Darrell Waltrip, Jimmie Johnson, Dale...Latest news
